ALDIS offers information brokerage services to libraries and resource centres in the Pacific and East Asia regions. The Electronic Database Information Brokerage for all Libraries (EDIBL) is a new service. We provide consultancy services and advice on information products, including needs analysis, research and recommendations covering product availability, options for content, strategies, and implementation planning. Brokerage consultancies may include - Needs Analysis – • the examination of the existing information flow • the current resources utilised • the target subject areas • the information "Wish List" • the current delivery (eg, to desktop) • network availability, including fire-wall restrictions if any • the budget for information databases • recurrent funding for information • number of users required per database • training requirements (Train the Trainer and/or end users) • consortia membership feasibility • the timeline. Research – • sourcing of suitable material • pricing • licencing • full-text availability • document delivery alternatives • vendor quotations • local support services • other Australia and New Zealand reference sites with similar material. Report – • recommendations for short- and long-term information sources • costings for selected resources • implementation issues • suggested operational schedules.
